When was the last time you were worried about page speeds?
You probably worry a lot about it, right?
Why page speeds matter
For every 2 seconds that your page takes to load, you lose 3,000 US dollars.
If you don’t have 3,000, then you start owing that amount.
It’s a complete racket I tell ya.

So now we know and are convinced with cold logic, that we need to increase our page speeds.
How?
Caching plugins
You install caching plugins on your WordPress and your site is faster than them lambos.
It is at least faster than it was before installing them lambos.
So that’s a good start.
Of course you don’t know your page cache from your object cache. But that’s what lambo drivers do, right? It’s the souuund dude, right? Who cares what’s a v12 or a 12v or whatever…it looks good, it sounds great and I am now poor, but hey, it’s fassst dude.
So the moment you have a big family, the lambos stop making that much sense.
You can put in a family in a lambo.
You alone? Got a friend with you? Sure. Lambo all day.
But with 5 kids, 11 friends each. And now your server is crashing, and your cache is hiding in the basement, along with your asset optimization attempts in Hummingbird.
Lambos go a long way, but not all the way
This is when you start looking at MPVs, those 8 seaters. You know, be practical, save money and get the work done.
Enter Server Side
Many servers already have server-side caching, and any decent hosting provider gives this type of caching for your WordPress installation.
But now those servers will cost you more than your Hostgator.
The Fantastic Server
I was paying almost US$ 70 every month just for hosting on a managed server.
The server was fantastic. Their support is what made that hardware feel that special. Really. I was with Premium WPMU Dev.
Yes, that is how you name your company. Just start saying words and acronyms till your reach Dev. Then stop. That’s your name. Now go and make some money.
In any case, I had two servers. One on Hostgator. And one with WPMUDev.
The Reseller Server on Hostgator
I am not going to lie: Hostgator was also quite good.
But I was on their Reseller (kind’a still am). And they don’t even offer Reseller anymore. I am legacy. Grandfathered into whatever they are grandfathering people into.
